I love living in Blackpool as there is so much to do and lots going on to keep Jessie entertained. Here’s a round up of the family friendly things I’m looking forward to in Blackpool for Summer 2018…
Peppa Pig’s Adventure – LIVE Show at The Grand Theatre, Blackpool
Peppa and her friends are coming to Blackpool on the 23rd and 24th June 2018. I cannot wait to see Jessie’s face when we take her! She’s a BIG Peppa fan! Showings are available at 10am, 1pm and 4pm on both days. Tickets are available from The Grand and start at £18.
Fairhaven Big Picnic, Sunday 1st July 2018, 11am to 4pm
Bring along a picnic to Fairhaven Lake (opposite the Spitfire) where there will be Punch and Judy, circus skills, donkey rides and much more. A traditional family fun day that little ones are bound to enjoy. This event is free but charges may apply for some activities.
Party on the Prom, Sunday 8th July 2018
This looks like it is going to be a fab day for all age ranges, with appearances from Peter Rabbit, Andy Day and a Little Mix tribute band. There are lots of activities available including circus skills, arts & crafts, drumming, baking and science, as well as face painting and a tiny tots area.
Tickets are available for £15 per adult/£10 per child or £45 for a family of 4. Under 3’s go free!

Blackpool Carnival, Sunday 22nd July 2018
Last year, Blackpool re-launched it’s carnival which originally was first held back in 1923! Blackpool have gained money from the Lottery Fund which means it will be returning again this year. From 12 noon there will be a parade from Central to South Pier, with on stage entertainment from 1pm at Waterloo Headland.
Acts have not yet been announced but watch this space for more information!
Blackpool Air Show, 11th and 12th August 2018
This free event will be great for my little girl, who is 2, as she loves waving at aeroplanes flying over our heads! Imagine how excited she’ll be when she sees the Red Arrows with coloured smoke trailing behind! Hopefully it will be nice weather and we can treat ourselves to a Notarianni’s ice cream too! 😋
Full details available here.
EleFest at Blackpool Zoo, Saturday 11th August 2018 @ 6.30pm
Also on the Saturday, Blackpool Zoo are hosting a VIP celebration for members with live music, safari treks, base camp tours and what’s selling it for me is the prosecco bar! 😉
Although this is an exclusive event for members, members can bring along guests for £5 per adult and £3 per child.
Visit the Facebook event page for full details.
Pirate Day at Park View 4 U, Tuesday 21st August 2018, 10.30am – 12 noon & 1.30pm – 3pm
Suitable for any age, Park View in Lytham are hosting a pirate day with treasure hunting, flag making, game playing and raft making.

Ride the Lights, 28th August 2018, 7pm – 10pm
Ride the Lights is a free, family friendly event where you get a chance to preview the famous Blackpool Illuminations . It’s not a race and you can ride as little or as much of the route as you want.
This year, there is an added bonus of the opportunity to detour into the Pleasure Beach where there will be a live DJ set and Nickelodeon Land characters for cyclists only.
I need to get a seat or trailer for Jessie as this sounds like great fun!
Blackpool Illuminations Switch On, Friday 31st August 2018
Of course one of the biggest events in Blackpool every year is the Switch On! Tickets are free but you have to register by the 24th July to be in with a chance of winning – click here to register now!
What have you got planned to do this summer? I’m always looking for fun things to do as a family and would love to hear from you!
