Here’s why Lytham Mummies love to swim at The St Ives Hotel!

This week I decided to take Jessie swimming and as we haven’t been for ages, I was unsure where to go. My first instinct was to head to the Lytham Mummies (South Fylde & Preston) Facebook group for advice. This is a group dedicated to local mums and has over 700 members who are all willing to share their tips and advice – if you are a local Mummy and aren’t yet a member then I highly recommend you join!

I didn’t even need to write my own post, I just searched for ‘swimming’ and lots of different posts came up. A couple of different pools got a fair few mentions and one of them was the St Ives Hotel in St Anne’s.

Aside from the numerous recommendations, the bargain price is what swayed me to go – it was only £2.50!

The toddler swim offer is available Monday to Friday, 9am – 3pm, term time only. All children under 3 go free and the parent pays just £2.50.

Was parking easy?

It was very easy to park on the hotel car park with plenty of spaces available (I went at 10.30am on a Monday morning).

What were the staff like?

All very friendly and helpful – the lady on reception was especially nice and had a little chat with Jessie!

Was it busy?

The pool was quiet with just a couple of other mums and babies there at the same time as me. However, if there had have been any more then it may have been a bit over crowded as the pool isn’t that big.

What was the pool like?

The water was warm and there were steps at the shallow end of the pool so it was easy to walk in with Jessie. I didn’t realise this at first though and struggled going down the ladders into the deep end!

Were the changing rooms ok?

The changing rooms were unisex, which is perfect if you are going as a family. There were plenty of lockable cubicles with benches inside and good sized lockers (which you don’t need a coin for – you just enter a 6 digit code of your choice) and a couple of showers too. There were baby changing facilities and there was a ‘play pen’ type thing to put crawling babies in to keep them from escaping whilst you sort yourself out! There were a couple of hairdryers (attached to the wall with a hose) and a couple of mirrors.

Would you go back again?

Yes! I thoroughly enjoyed our swimming experience at the St Ives and will most definitely be making more use of this offer in the future! It was easy to access, was a relatively stress free experience (as stress free as it can be with a toddler!), a nice sized warm pool with clean changing rooms and of course a brilliant price.

The St Ives Hotel is easy to find on the promenade in St Anne’s – 7 South Promenade, St Anne’s, FY8 1LS.

The toddler swim offer is available term time only, Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm. Only £2.50 per adult with all under 3’s FREE.

The heated pool is open daily from 8am to 10pm and regular prices are £4.25 per adult and £2.75 for 4-15 year olds and senior citizens.

All details are correct at the time of publishing but if you want to check up to date prices you can call the hotel directly on 01253 720011 or visit their website by clicking here.
